A wide-reach platform for FrieslandCampina

The collaboration between CF Report and FrieslandCampina marks a significant milestone where CF Report is responsible for the entire annual report, reporting platform, and redefining FrieslandCampina’s corporate reporting strategy.

Reaching a wide and targeted audience

For the fourth year running, CF Report has developed a comprehensive reporting platform for FrieslandCampina, which included a multilingual annual report in both full and abridged versions, a CEO video interview, and previously produced Executive Board interview videos. 

In 2022, FrieslandCampina faced farmer protests following the nitrogen crisis. The company had to find the right response for its shareholders (the member dairy farmers), employees and social organisations. By choosing the perspective the vision of the younger generation of farmers in the annual report, illustrating how they translate dilemmas into a sustainable future, a compelling story was crafted. It outlined the future of the dairy industry. Amid rising commodity prices and unexpectedly growing inflation, (the now-departed) CEO Hein Schumacher provided insight into goals, strategic choices, sustainability ambitions, and employee engagement through a coherent video interview.

Result

Compact while retaining depth

The result is an annual report where challenging topics are presented in a ‘snackable’ format without losing depth and nuance. An annual report in which CF Report pulled out all the stops with a CEO video as a road movie, streetcasting photography, and the implementation of a new corporate identity.

In line with FrieslandCampina’s corporate movie “A new Day,” CF Report thematically elaborated on the key strategic pillars, with a focus on food security, sustainability, and continuity. Simply put, we translated the strategic pillars, ‘nourishing millions of people,’ ‘nourishing a better planet,’ and ‘nourishing growth and change,’ into a stakeholder perspective of farmers, consumers, and the planet.

The integrated annual report is again more compact and focused than the previous year. Stakeholders’ expectations regarding financial and ESG information are easy to find in the report. Additionally, FrieslandCampina’s story, ‘Nourishing a better nature,’ emerges in a clear and compelling way.
